The Spotmatic F, often referred to as the "Spotmatic Final," is a 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) film camera released by Pentax in 1973. It represents the culmination of the Spotmatic line, with the only other model being the stripped-down Spotmatic 1000 of 1974. The Spotmatic F is designed to accept M42 screw mount lenses and has a fully mechanical shutter.

While retaining all the excellence of the Pentax Spotmatic II, the Spotmatic F boasts minor improvements, with the most notable being its ability to meter full aperture with the newly introduced SMC Takumar lenses. These lenses feature tiny tabs in the lens mount that communicate aperture info to the camera's meter, eliminating the need for stop-down metering. However, stop-down metering is still necessary with older Pentax lenses.

The Spotmatic F includes a built-in light meter with film sensitivity ranging from ISO 20 to ISO 3200, a self-timer, and shutter speeds ranging from 1 second to 1/1000. In essence, the Spotmatic F embodies the saying, "If it ain't broke, make it a little bit better," precisely capturing Pentax's approach to this model.
